DEC's Martens taps Goertz for local office

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Joe Martens announced Oct. 24 Keith D. Goertz for the agency’s Director of Region 4 office in Rotterdam. Goertz, from Schenectady, has served as Acting Region 4 Director since mid-May, overseeing DEC activities in Albany, Columbia, Delaware, Greene, Montgomery, Otsego, Rensselaer, Schoharie, and Schenectady counties, with more than 200 employees. Prior to becoming the Acting Director for the Region 4 office, Goertz served as the long-term remediation engineer for the nine-county region, supervising seven staff members and long-term projects, as well as emergency responses and subsurface investigations and cleanup activities.
