Gillibrand officially running for president

Mar 18, 2019 12:11 am
Lauren Stanforth reports in the Albany Times Union that New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand may have announced Jan. 15 that she was exploring a run for president. She may have made the same announcement the next day at the Country View Diner in Brunswick in Rensselaer County. And she may have spent the past two months in town hall meetings in Iowa and diners in New Hampshire. On March 17, though, she made it official, saying what everyone already knows: Gillibrand is running for president. She'll be on televised town hall on MSNBC March 18, and holds a rally in front of Trump International in New York City on March 24. Most early polls have Gillibrand trailing Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Beto O'Rourke, Joe Biden, and Bernie Sanders among the candidates that have announced presidential intentions.
