Paul Kirby reports in the Daily Freeman that Republican Assemblyperson Chris Tague, who is from Schoharie and represents Greene County in the 102nd Assembly District, was not impressed by the legislative session that ended last week. “This legislative session was the most disappointing of my career, yet,” Tague said in a statement. “Assembly Democrats did nothing to hold our governor accountable for his actions, worsened our business climate by raising taxes and gave minimal assistance to the thousands of struggling small businesses throughout the state that have barely scraped by during the pandemic.“ Democrats control both houses, and hold the governor's office too, which means Republicans such as Tague have little power over what gets accomplished in Albany. “Throughout this pandemic the people’s voices have been ignored, as even when parents cried in front of our Capitol and throughout the state to unmask our kids, the majority has completely held up and ignored my bill to prohibit the masking of children,” Tague said. “It is clear this session that the Majority’s priorities were to protect criminals and work to further drag our state leftward by over-taxing and regulating our businesses as they’ve plowed forward with their socialist agenda.” Read more about this story in the Daily Freeman.
