Coxsackie solar project construction about to begin
Rick Karlin reports in the Times Union that construction begins next month on a 436-acre solar farms to date in Coeymans, in southern Albany County. “We received approval from the PSC last week on our site plan,” said project manager Alex Campbell of the Public Service Commission's sign-off. Hecate officials say the project will create 140 short-term construction jobs. Hecate is also planning the 50-megawatt Greene County Solar Facility on 800 acres in Coxsackie, Greene County, the 60-megawatt Shepherd's Run project in Copake and two 20-megawatt projects, in New Baltimore and Coeymans. Another company, Hudson Energy, is working on a 100-megawatt Flint Mine solar project in the southern end of Coxsackie and the northern section of Athens.
