Paul Kirby reports in the Daily Freeman that incumbent Congressperson Antonio Delgado leads all other candidates running to take his place representing the 19th Congressional District. On Sept. 30 the Democrat Delgado told the Federal Elections Commission he has $1.5 million on hand for his 2020 campaign. Delgado raised $2,063,246.39 this year through Sept. 30, spending $616,643. Republican Tony German, a retired two-star general, has $49,849 raised since his August announcement, spending $1,774. Republican Ola Hawatmeh, a fashion designer, raised $5,447 and spent $210. Mike Roth, another Republican, has not raised any money. So far no Democrats have announced a challenge to Delgado. The three Republicans will face off first in a primary election on June 23, 2020, before the winner takes on the Democrat nominee the following fall. Read more about this story in the Daily Freeman.
