BUCHLA – often labelled as the Stradivarius of Synthesizers. The Buchla synthesizer is named after the electronics pioneer Donald “Don” Buchla, who manufactured his first modular synthesizer in 1963, The Buchla Series 100. The Music Easel appeared in 1973 so we are celebrating both a “Diamond” (60 years) and jubilee (50 years) to close 2023. BUCHLAÏSMS is a mammoth of a collection gathering works documenting the use of one of the most innovative « musical vessel » ever designed, whose extent of the sound spectrum does not seem to belong to this world and the logic lies apart from everything that may have existed before its creation in 1963.
