Emilia Teasdale reports in The Columbia Paper that the Valatie village Zoning Board of Appeals approved Nov. 1 a self-serve car wash business on Route 9, that will be built next year. BJ Cantele received a special use permit from the board to put a self-serve car wash on property shared with what used to be the Valkin restaurant. That's across the street from the Bagel Tyme café and the Val Kin Carwash, which is staffed. The car wash business will be behind the restaurant building with an entrance from Route 9/Kinderhook Street. The self-serve car vacuums will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. instead of the round-the-clock service Cantele requested. Read the full in The Columbia Paper
