Seggos changes his mind; staying at DEC

The State of Politics blog is reporting state Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos announced Feb. 7, that he will remain in the agency's top spot, despite his declared intention in late 2018, to depart. Seggos said in an email to DEC workers, “I’ve said it many times — this is the best job, at the best agency, and I’m really working with the best people.” Segos said he realized that if he left, he would "forever regret" the decision. “...I am excited to continue the fight and continue the incredible progress being made under Governor Cuomo’s leadership," he said. Seggos was appointed commissioner 2015, after he served as an environmental advisor to the governor. He also serves as a U.S. Army reservist. Read the full story at NYStateofPolitics [dot] com.
