Greene County official outlines communication tower plans

Jim Planck in The Daily Mail reports that Catskill may have better emergency communications now that Greene County Emergency Management has moved its equipment from a Hamburg Road tower to a location on the west side of Catskill, Greene County Emergency Management Specialist Dan King said April 7. “It just went on line yesterday,” King said. “The Horseshoe Bend of 23A is known to be a horrible area (for radio communication),” he said, “and we had good reception there now.” He said the only other tower area currently scheduled for improvement is in New Baltimore, and that rumors of a tower planned for the North-South Lake area are false. “There’s some misinformation out there,” King said. “We did investigate the possibility, but there is no tower planned for North-South Lake at this time.” Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
