The Saturday afternoon edition of "Turn On the News" includes segments on the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic April 15, 1912. The large ship's demise was a large event in the early development of radio history, and sparked improvements in ship-to-shore communications in its wake. The disaster led to the passage of the Federal Radio Act of 1912, which provided for the licensure of radio operators, the requirement for a separate frequency for distress calls, absolute priority for distress calls, for 24-hour radio service for ships at sea.

Also "Media Minutes" from Free Press. Plus radio headlines after 8 a.m., John Cage's game show appearance, Sublime Frequencies, a RNC preview from Kelly Benjamin, and radio songs from Wilco, the Donner Party, Scanner, The Dust Dive, Paul Simon, and more.
