Albany proposal would require gun locks in homes with children

David Lombardo reports in the Albany Times Union that gun owners would have to store their firearms with a locking device or in a locked container if a proposal in the state capitol passes. The measure would expand the existing safe storage law that mandates gun locks in homes where there is a resident that is prohibited from owning a firearm. Assemblyperson Amy Paulin, a Westchester County Democrat, predicts that the legislation will pass both houses of the Legislature. "It could be any day," she said.
