Catskill senior center reopens
Sam Raudins reports for Columbia-Greene Media that the Catskill senior center reopened July 6 with a new director. Jamie Story is now director of The Robert C. Antonelli Senior Center, which has been closed due to COVID-19 since March, 2020. The senior center is not completely reopen yet, with sit-down dining back on Aug. 2 with some new rules, including non-vaccinated attendees wearing masks, reservations made a day in advance, and physical distancing. Story says she is also looking to add services. “I’m open to ideas from the community and from the seniors working with funds from the town and fundraisers,” Story said. “I’m really excited to be here. I’ve been here about a week, and I have met many wonderful seniors, and I’m looking forward to meeting many more.” Edie Bentley, senior center patron, said it’s “fun” to be back. “I’m very happy to see that everybody got through the COVID OK.” Read more about this story at HudsonValley360.com.
