The Times Union is reporting Ulster County Democrat Gareth Rhodes has been endorsed by Kathy Betzinger, chair of the Brunswick Democratic Committee, in his 19th Congressional District primary bid. Betzinger announced her support for Rhodes a week after he was endorsed by Joseph Donaldson, chair of the Kingston Democratic Committee. "Gareth understands and can relate to the voters of this district, having worked as a well driller after high school and later a volunteer firefighter," Betzinger said in a statement. "He has experience working in government and is more likely to inspire the next generation of active voters." Rhodes is facing five other Democrats in the primary election, June 26.
