Faso breaks tie for Trumpcare in budget committee vote

Mar 17, 2017 12:02 am

Chris McKenna reports in the Times Herald that Rep. John Faso (R-Kinderhook) was the key vote that helped the American Health Care Act, or Trumpcare, pass the House Budget Committee 19-17 March 16. Democrats and three very conservative Republicans voted against the bill: Reps. Dave Brat (R-Va.), Mark Sanford (R-S.C.), and Gary Palmer (R-Ala.). The Citizen Action of New York activist group released a statement after the vote saying, in part, “John Faso just sold out his entire district in the name of tax cuts for the richest one percent."
