Bill to study long-term effects of PFOS signed into law

MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting legislation drafted by U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, a Democrat representing New York's 18th Congressional District, to study the long-term effects of PFOS and PFOA in water has been signed into law by the president. The measure was prompted by the discovery of the chemical in the Newburgh city drinking water supply more than 18 months ago, Maloney said. “We don’t have good federal research on what the long-term [affects] are of being exposed to these chemicals and we need to know that, so that will get that study going,” Maloney said.
