Greene County Jail meetings this week
May 12, 2018 12:30 am
Audrey Matott reports in The Greenville Pioneer that the Greene County Legislature might have some resolution this week on the largest financial project in the county's history. The Legislature's Finance Committee meets at 6 p.m. May 14 about whether to spend about $70 million to build a new jail in Coxsackie, or spend a lot less to share a facility with Columbia County. The full Legislature meets at 6:30 p.m. on May 16. Both meetings are at the County Office Building in Catskill. The county's current jail, in Catskill, is closed now, after being ranked by the state as one of the worst five jails in New York. Read the full story in The Greenville Pioneer.
