Cairo-Durham Schools Superintendent Anthony Taibi sent a letter home to parents Mon., Sept. 19, reporting that over the weekend, "While our custodial staff was performing their regular cleaning of the building, two .22 caliber rounds were found in the elementary school hallway." Local police were called, and they searched Cairo-Durham Elementary with their canine unit, but did not find anything else. "It is suspected that these items were inadvertently brought into our building and dropped," the letter says.
