Both Chatham and ICC softball teams win Section II titles Tuesday

Columbia-Greene Media reports that two local softball teams won Section II championships on June 4, the Ichabod Crane varsity softball team won the Class B title, and Chatham won the Section II Class C softball championship. The Ichabod Crane Lady Riders beat Schuylerville, 3-1, at Luther Forest Athletic Field to win the title. ICC's Isabella Milazzo led the team all year, and pitched seven innings, striking out seven and allowing just four hits and one run in the title game. “Winning the championship is amazing,” Millazzo said. "I had some big shoes to fill and I’m proud of myself and my team.” The Chatham Panthers beat Lake George 5-3 at Moreau Rec. Chatham, now 20-2 for the year, play Section VII champion Ticonderoga June 6 at 4:30 p.m. at Schalmont High School in the regional playoffs.
