Ashby wins 107th AD seat; absentees remain to be counted in 102nd

Richard Moody is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media Cindy Doran, Democrat Rensselaer County Legislator has conceded the 107th Assembly District race to fellow legislator, Republican Jake Ashby. 10Doran made the announcement on her campaign Facebook page April 27, after absentee ballots were counted in Rensselaer County. The gap was close, but not close enough to overcome with more votes elsewhere, Doran said. In the 102nd Assembly District race, Democrat Aidan O'Connor remains optimistic, saying his race against Republican Christopher Tague is still too close to call. On election night, Tague bested O'Connor by 288 votes. More than 2,300 absentee ballots were mailed out in the district and more than 1,300 of those ballots remain out, O'Connor said. Local boards of elections in Greene, Schoharie, Columbia, Ulster, Albany, Delaware and Otsego counties — will count the absentee ballots at different times.
