Hochul estimates $35 million cost for storm cleanup

Luke Parsnow reports for New York State of Politics that New York Gov. Kathy Hochul estimates that the state will spend $35 million to clean up from the heavy storms that wreaked havoc on the lower Hudson Valley July 9 and 10. Hochul said, “We are aggressively doing the calculations of the cost right now. We’ll get those submitted to the federal government, and I can anticipate reimbursements will help with this cleanup as well.” Hochul said New York will apply for a disaster declaration and reimbursement from the federal government, “and I know that sometimes takes weeks to do.” Read more about this story at New York State of Politics.
