Saratoga GOP picks Daphne Jordan for 43rd SD race
David Lombardo is reporting for Capitol Confidential the Saratoga County Republican Committee's executive committee May 28 endorsed Daphne Jordan as the party’s nominee in the 43rd Senate District race. The Halfmoon town board member edged out five other candidates, including Marlene Tuczinski of Columbia County. The Republicans in Washington and Columbia counties could make their own endorsements this week. Saratoga GOP chair Carl Zeilman previously said he expects the local committees to rally behind one candidate and is not concerned about the selection process dragging on. “There’s no rush to just throw somebody into that position,” he said. “We’re right on schedule with the petition time.” Aaron Gladd of Brunswick has emerged as the Democratic candidate in the race.
