NY Ed Commissioner walks out on parents

Public News Service is reporting on the furor caused when New York State Education Commissioner John King Jr. last week walked out of a forum on the Common Core and standardized testing when confronted by angry parents. PLAY (2:01) In a letter dated Tues., Oct. 15, State Senator Cecilia Tkaczyk urged King to reverse his decision to cancel the series of town hall meetings, and invited him to an education forum she is hosting, Oct. 22. Tkaczyk called the event in Poughkeepsie, a "teachable moment."
