Candidates line up for Tyner's former seat

MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting six Democrats have indicated their interest in filling the Dutchess County Legislature District 11 seat vacated by the abrupt resignation of Joel Tyner. The law requires that Tyner's replacement be appointed within 20 days of the resignation. The district covers the towns of Rhinebeck and Clinton, and both town boards must vote on Tyner's replacement. Rhinebeck Town Supervisor Elizabeth Spinzia Feb. 1, presided over a public meeting to interview five of the applicants. Those seeking appointment to the position are: Evelyn Bartin, an adjunct professor at Marist College; Brennan Kearney, a member of the Rhinebeck Town Board; Brant Neuneker and John Rossi, both members of the Rhinebeck Village Board; Kristen Bonanza, Executive Director of the Rhinebeck Area Chamber of Commerce; and, Robert Long, a resident of Rhinebeck.
