Inmate visitation days won't be cut

Glenn Blain and Kenneth Lovett report in The New York Daily News thaat the number of visitation days families of inmates at maximum security prisons are allowed might not be slashed after all. Gov. Andrew Cuomo's budget had cut visits from seven days a week to three days a week. But Assembly Corrections Committee Chairman David Weprin (D-Queens) said March 29 that during current budget negotiations the funding has been restored. "I want to praise the governor for doing the right thing," Weprin said. "I think he heard from a lot of people and realized it doesn't make sense." Read the full story in The New York Daily News.
