Hudson school board appoints new member
Jeanette Wolfberg is reporting in The Columbia Paper the Hudson Board of Education on December 18, appointed Lucinda Segar to fill the seat left vacant by the resignation of David Kisselburgh in November. Segar has been a resident of the district for five years, and teaches high school English in Catskill. “I want to contribute to my community, while finding out how school boards work,” she said. “It will be a learning experience.” Originally from Amherst, Massachusetts, Segar studied writing at Columbia University, studied education at Bard, taught at Fashion Institute of Technology and lived in New York City before coming to Hudson. Segar will fill the vacancy through the board election and budget vote on May 15. If she chooses to run and is elected, Segar will complete Kisselburgh's term through June 2019. Segar is the second teacher to serve on the Hudson board. Linda Hopkins, elected in May, teaches at Taconic Hills. Read the full story in The Columbia Paper.
