Local TV stations get new frequencies
Jul 17, 2019 12:00 pm
Larry Rulison is reporting for the Times Union four local television stations are being reassigned to new frequencies by the Federal Communications Commission as part of the nationwide transition to 5G wireless broadband services. Four local stations, WTEN-TV, WMHT-TV, WCWN-TV and WYPX-TV are getting new frequencies. Anyone who gets their TV over the air must re-scan their sets for the stations between now and August 2, perhaps several times, to capture the new frequencies. The FCC is changing the frequencies of 1,000 broadcast television stations nationwide. Read the full story in the Times Union.
