The Daily Freeman is reporting Hudson Valley Distillers, located in Clermont, won the Best of Class Vodka Award at the American Distilling Institute's conference held in San Diego last month. New York agriculture commissioner Richard Ball visited the distillery Tue., May 3, to congratulate owners Thomas Yozzo and Chris Moyer. The facility opened in 2013. Hudson Valley Distillers makes vodka from local apples, gin from local grapes, and applejack and whisky from local ingredients.
