Poll finds Cuomo's numbers are up

Matthew Hamilton is reporting at Capitol Confidential a majority of voters say they are prepared to re-elect Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo in 2018, according to a new poll. The Siena College poll released early Wed., May 23, shows Cuomo's favorability numbers at a second-term high, at 61 percent. His overall job performance has also flipped from 47 percent in April to a 51 percent rating in May. However, when asked about eight specific issues, Cuomo is "under water" on six of them, according to the Siena survey. While he did not score high on the economy, infrastructure and taxes, Cuomo rated well on higher education and human rights among the 770 registered voters surveyed.
