Amanda Fries reports in the Times Union that 70 percent of New York state healthcare workers have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot so far, up from 63 percent last week. Governor Andrew Cuomo continues to blame federal officials for a less-than-expected supply of the vaccines. "The issue with the vaccination plan is the supply," Cuomo said. "We are ready for distribution of the vaccine in a much larger quantity. We have 3,000 distribution sites; 3,000 providers already signed up. We can get the needle in the arm, we just need the supply itself." While New York residents wait for the vaccine, many of them are catching coronavirus, and some of them are dying. Greene County announced 50 more COVID-19 cases Jan. 25, and two more deaths. There were 46 new positive tests reported Jan. 25 in Columbia County, and one more death. Ulster County announced 70 new cases, and Dutchess County reported another 190 cases and another death. There were 54 cases of COVID-19 reported by the Rensselaer County Health Department on Jan. 25, and one more death. In Albany County, there were 151 new cases announced Jan. 25, and one new death.
