Legislature, governor may extend budget deadline a second time
Nick Reisman reports at New York State of Politics that Gov. Kathy Hochul said on April 5 that she and state lawmakers may not reach a budget agreement by her new, extended deadline of April 10. We'll be looking at it again on Monday, of course. But it's more important to get it right and I'm committeed to getting it right." Lawmakers and the governor still can't agree on changes, or not, to the bail laws, and how to create more affordable housing in New York. "These are the issues that I'm laser focused on, so it's taking considerable time," Hochul said. Read more about this story at New York State of Politics.
