Lopez, Miller talk issues at forum

W.T. Eckert reports in The Daily Mail on the forum held in Saugerties, Mon., Oct. 15, with two candidates in the newly drawn 102nd Assembly District race. Current 127th District Assemblyman Pete Lopez, Republican of Schoharie, and Jimmy Miller, Democrat of Albany, talked issues at the event, hosted by the League of Women Voters. The debate included issues around hydrofracking, job creation and women's rights. Both candidates said they were in the race to help people and serve the community. "It is about the people, it is about helping individuals, it is about helping businesses and it is about growing this area," Miller said. “I am focused on you,” Lopez said, “because my belief is that you are an extension of my family.
