Boil water order for Catskill

Claude Haton in The Daily Mail reports that Catskill residents should boil their water the next two or three days after a Jefferson Heights water main break on Route 23B around 4:30 a.m. at one of the hydrants located where renovation work is being done by Merritt Construction. "The firm has been driving reinforcing plates into the steep hillside in that area, which is known to have had erosion problems in the past," Haton writes. One home, owned by John Annese and rented by Mike Billera on Snake Road just below the work site, suffered extensive damage. By 10 a.m., the pipe was repaired and the water turned on, but the boil water advisory remain in effect for two or three days until water quality is safe. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
