The Mid-Hudson News reports that local unemployment rates increased slightly through most of the Hudson Valley over the last 12 months. New York's labor department reported Oct. 22 that the unemployment rates increased by a tenth of a percentage point in both Greene and Columbia counties. Greene County's unemployment rate ticked up to 3.7 percent over the past year, while Columbia County's rate, despite the slight increase, was still the lowest unemployment rate in the region at 2.7 percent. The joblessness rate in Dutchess County increased from 3.3 percent to 3.5 percent, while Ulster County's rate did not change, at 3.4 percent. Read more about this story in the Mid-Hudson News.
