Cuomo mum on pipelines during 'State of the State'

Jan 15, 2016 12:49 pm
Marie J. French in The Albany Business Review reports that while Governor Andrew Cuomo mentioned "clean energy" during his "State of the State" speech Jan. 13, he did not utter the word "pipeline" once. There are four pipelines proposed around the capitol region currently, including the Pilgrim Pipeline, which would lay largely alongside Interstate 87 through Albany, Greene, and Ulster counties on its way to New Jersey. The Constitution Pipeline, through Schoharie and Delaware counties to Pennsylvania, is waiting approval from the the Department of Environmental Conservation to carry natural gas produced through hydraulic fracturing. Protesters against the pipelines were loudly on the Empire State Plaza before Cuomo's speech. Read the full story in The Albany Business Review.
