DOT prioritizes Kaaterskill Clove stabilization

Apr 05, 2016 7:45 am

Jim Planck is reporting in The Daily Mail Route 23A through Kaaterskill Clove in Hunter will be the scene of extensive repair during the next two construction seasons. The New York State Department of Transportation will stabilize at least 10 separate locations along the road. The serious roadside embankment problems caused the work to be prioritized ahead of other scheduled projects. The DOT reports the estimated cost of the project is $3 million, and the bid letting will occur on May 19. If all goes according to plan, construction would begin in late June. During the construction period there will be a one-week period when the road will be closed, but exactly when will depend on whether that part of the project is done this year or next. DOT representatives will hold a public information session on the project and its individual components Tue., Apr. 19, at the Hunter Town Hall, beginning at 6 p.m. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
