Early morning smoke clears out C-A High School

Melanie Lekocevic is reporting in The Daily Mail approximately 850 students and 100 staff members from Coxsackie-Athens High School were evacuated early morning Tue., Dec. 6, after a fire alarm was triggered by smoke. The smoke came from a student's cell phone “after it had been tampered with,” said Coxsackie-Athens District Superintendent Randall Squier. Two fire trucks and two support vehicles from the Coxsackie Fire Department responded to the call. Students and staff stood outside in the cold until firefighters gave the all-clear, 45 minutes later. There were no injuries and no fire. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
