Jordan begins attacks on Gladd
Oct 25, 2018 12:08 am
David Lombardo reports for Capitol Confidential that the 43rd State Senate election to fill Republican Kathy Marchione's seat has turned from biographical to attacks, at least from Republican Daphne Jordan. She has a new 30-second television advertisement that's more about her Democratic opponent, Aaron Gladd, and Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, than about herself. The ad argues that, if elected, Gladd would rubber stamp Cuomo's policies. Jordan erroneously describes Gladd as Cuomo’s former “policy director;” he was the “deputy policy director,” which Gladd let her know at a recent candidate forum between the two. In an area that President Donald J. Trump won by three points two years ago, Gladd is telling his story about growing up in extreme poverty, and serving as an Army platoon leader in Afghanistan. The 43rd Senate District includes northern Columbia County and all of Rensselaer County. Read the full story in Capitol Confidential.
