Harris Skibell
Harris Skibell (New York, NY) is a composer, sound designer, and multimedia designer. As a composer he has gravitated towards use of computers and direct digital synthesis and analysis to process and produce recorded sound. He has been composer-in-residence at the Columbia University Computer Music Studios, the Center for Computer Music at Brooklyn College, and at Studio PASS in New York City. His works have been performed or broadcast at Roulette, Columbia University, the Whitney Museum, New Music America, CBGB's Real Computer Music Series, Merce Cunningham Studios, Bowling Green New Music Festival, WNYC-TV, Danish National Radio, and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He is currently working on sound design for a CD-ROM on the Beat poets for Voyager and an upcoming exhibit at the Whitney Museum (with the music production company Tomanandy), on the World Wide Web-based media removal machine, "Snuff," and on a Web-based serial which takes place on a subway car.
