Ecart Performance Group

Group Ecart has roots in the Geneva of the early 1960s, when John M. Armleder, Patrick Lucchini and Claude Rychner formed the “Luc Bois” group, but consolidated itself in 1969 with the Ecart Happening Festival, the first of many events which connected the group to broader networks of international Fluxus. The group founded the Ecart Gallery and publishing house in 1973, exhibiting and publishing figures including Dick Higgins, Annette Messager and Genesis P-Orridge. The book produced performances, multiples, mail art, films and broadcasts until 1982, which saw the closing of the gallery and the dissolution of the group.
