Music from around the world is featured. Bringing the audience into the realm of other cultures through music, hopefully expanding empathy for the “other,” and recognizing that “other” in ourselves. For the last 20 years or so the Canadian city of Montreal has hosted a cultural arts and music festival dedicated to traditions of the Arab world. Each year the presentation centers on a pre-determined theme. Today we offer a sampling from two different years (2005/2004) and three different themes ("Espace Zero"/"Gnawa El Jazz"/"Prophetes Rebelles").
