Ichabod superintendent charged with DWI

NewsChannel 13, the NBC affiliate in Albany, is reporting that it has confirmed that Michael Vanyo, the superintendent of the Ichabod Crane Central School District, was arrested over the weekend on a DWI charge. He was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident. An attorney for Vanyo said Vanyo is still employed and planning to show up for work every day. It is unknown if the charges will impact his employment. The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office says Vanyo was arrested April 6, after leaving the scene of a crash on Maple Avenue in Wilton. The collision resulted in property damage, according to law enforcement. The sheriff's office did not provide Vanyo's blood alcohol level, saying only that it was over the legal limit of .08 percent.
