Fired teacher sues Greenville school
Jul 31, 2019 12:56 am
Rachel Silberstein reports for the Albany Times Union that Rachel Henderson, a substitute teacher and paraprofessional for more than nine years, is suing the Greenville school district over her 2018 termination. Henderson was fired for having conversations with school staff about a high school student she had heard could be dangerous, but school officials says she was trading in "unfounded gossip." "She had specific information provided from a credible source outside of the school who told her that this particular student could pose a threat to other students," Henderson's attorney Kevin Luibrand said. "All she did was inquire from people who worked there whether the student was enrolled or going to be attending in the fall." Her complaint was filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York last week. Read more about this story in the Albany Times Union.
