Fire destroys two buildings in Kinderhook

Nathan Mayberg reports in the Register Star a fast-moving fire claimed two buildings on the town square in Kinderhook village, Sun., Nov. 25. The fire was moving rapidly through the top two floors of numbers 4 and 6 Broad Street by the time fire crews arrived after 5 p.m. Both buildings are reported to be a total loss. An adjacent building sustained heavy smoke and water damage. Vacant for years, a restaurant was reportedly set to open in one of the two destroyed buildings during the coming week.
