Congressional candidate Clegg to visit pollution sites

Rachel Silberstein is reporting for the Times Union 19th Congressional District Democratic primary candidate David Clegg, has announced plans to take a three-day, 200-mile bike trip this summer, hitting a number of pollution hot spots in the district, beginning June 6. The Woodstock resident start at the source of the Susquehanna River in Cooperstown and make 13 stops in three days, including stops in Catskill, the Hudson Superfund site, Faso Friday in Kinderhook, Old Chatham and the Hoosick Falls contamination site. His campaign said environmental issues are of significant concern to Clegg. He is a member of the Catskill 3500 club and has climbed several of America’s highest mountains. In addition, as a trial attorney he has taken legal action against corporate polluters. He is a strong opponent of fracking and has taken the OFF Fossil Fuels Pledge.
