Brendan Lyons is reporting in the Times Union state Sen. Kathleen Marchione gave her longtime confidential secretary the boot this week after the woman's husband campaigned for a seat on the Rensselaer County Legislature against another member of the senator's staff. Michael Bayly was credited by many in the Rensselaer County GOP with helping secure Marchione's 2012 Senate win, according to Lyons. Her narrow primary victory over then-Sen.
