Village considering county's first electric vehicle charging station
Karrie Allen is reporting in the Chatham Courier the Chatham Village Board is considering a proposal to install an electric vehicle charging station in its municipal lot. Mallory Mort, co-chair of the Ghent Climate Smart Committee, presented the plan to the board in early March. The proposal calls for the station to be installed in the parking lot at Depot Square, near the gazebo. The two-hour charging station would allow two vehicles to charge at the same time. The Columbia Land Conservancy, Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and the Capital District Electric Vehicle Drivers Group have all committed to support the plan. There are currently 21 to 50 electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles registered in Columbia County. The Chatham charging station would be the county's first. Read the full story in the Chatham Courier.
