Lewis elected chairman of Greene legislature

Jim Planck is reporting in The Daily Mail the Greene County Legislature chose Republican legislator Kevin Lewis of Greenville as its chairman for 2015. The installation of Lewis was the body's first official act at its organizational meeting Mon., Jan. 5. Lewis was nominated by predecessor, Republican Wayne Speenburgh of Coxsackie. Speenburgh stepped down from the county's top spot last year for health reasons. Republican William Lawrence, of Cairo, was made Majority Leader, and Democrat Harry Lennon, also of Cairo, was made Minority Leader. Ed. note: Lawrence is a WGXC programmer.
