Mar 21, 2014 9:07 am
Jim Planck is reporting in The Daily Mail Catskill Town Supervisor Joseph Leggio said Thurs., Mar. 20, the Washington Irving Senior Center will stay open and remain open, despite the recent arrest and resignation of center director Ann Marie Moran on felony charges. He said for the time being, one person is covering most of the hours the center is open. Leggio said he and some of the town board members have been pitching in to help, as well as some of the seniors themselves. The director's position will eventually be posted, but the board intends to take the next two to three weeks to re-evaluate, and decide how to move forward. Moran has been accused of siphoning off funds from accounts she allegedly set up for an 85-year-old woman who attended activities at the center. Moran resigned her position as director, Wed., Mar. 19. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
