Aug 21, 2018 12:23 pm
David Lombardo reports in Capitol Confidential that Stephanie Miner, former mayor of Syracuse, submitted petitions Aug. 21 to the state Board of Elections to run for governor on the Serve America Movement line. Miner is the former co-chair of the state Democratic Party. Her petition included 40,770 signatures, more than twice the 15,000 required. Miner is running on a ticket with Republican Michael Volpe, a former mayor in Westchester County. “New Yorkers showed they want a choice in this important election,” Miner said in a statement. Miner will be running against Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro and the winner of the Andrew Cuomo/Cynthia Nixon Democratic primary Sept. 13. Read the full story in Capitol Confidential.
