The Times Union is reporting Hudson High School principal Antonio "Tiney" Abitable has been hired by the Lansingburgh Board of Education as that district's new superintendent. The board August 26, appointed Abitabile to succeed eight-year school chief Cynthia DeDominick when she retires in December. He will be paid an annual salary of $157,000, under a three-year agreement. Abitabile has so far spent his entire professional career as an employee of the Hudson City School District. Following graduation from Hudson High School, he left the city to attend SUNY Cortland, then returning to work briefly as a math teacher before moving into administration. Lansingburgh Board President, Jason Shover, expressed the board's united approval of  DeDominick's tenure in the district and their confidence in Abitabile as her successor.
